What is Personal Branding

Think of yourself as a Product – a product on a shelf. Product U.
The Brand of the product is your name.
The benefit or value of the product is your Brand distinction. What you do best.

The ingredients listed on the product box are a list of what you stand for and what you don’t. Your brand attributes. And they are there for the consumer to see. Your Brand promise to your marketplace. Your target market will purchase you IF they can see the value and will talk about you to their friends, particularly if – THE BRAND PROMISE MATCHES THE BRAND.

When the product is bought, based on the promise, the box is opened and you’re unveiled…your behaviours had better match and support the brand promise! Or you may well be returned!

That is Product U – Personal Brand X.

Personal Brand is your reputation. In business, your reputation and your legacy is the strongest currency you have to deal in.

Personal Branding is the process by which you market yourself to others – Product U. It’s what makes you stand out in the crowd. Your X factor. It is a hook to hang your hat on so that people remember you, so that you are heard above the murmour.

It’s a fact in life that people buy other people, in much the same way as we buy a product or service. We all have a choice and we make emotional decisions to buy based on how much we think we will benefit and the experience of the buying process. People are buying Product U based on your promise of value.

Personal BrandingIn today’s rapidly changing work environment, Personal Branding is a MUST. It is no longer about loyalty and conformity. It is about being the best that you can be, knowing what you stand for and what you don’t and being confident about the value you bring to any relationship.

Ignore Personal Brand at your peril. You may just be left behind, amongst the crowd or on the shelf!

CREATE. ATTRACT. DISTINGUISH.
